What Are You Thankful For?
Studies have shown that people who practice gratitude report experiencing more joy, express more compassion and generosity, and are even less likely to get sick. But how do you nurture a spirit of thankfulness when busy-ness distracts you from the joy around you?
Remember our,” I thank God for…” moleskin notebooks? Did you get one? It’s not too late. Stop by the church and nourish your thankfulness to God! Here are a few of the things that I’m thankful for that happened yesterday at church.
I Thank God For…
I thank God for the family that appeared after worship to drop off coats for the homeless. They had seen on our church sign that we are accepting winter coats for the homeless and I quickly explained that the Kingdom Warriors ministry serves the about 200 homeless each Monday. Cheryl agreed to deliver the coats right away to Betty Richard so that tonight some people will be warm.
I thank God for the 160 cans we’ve collected to go to the food pantry and the for the church member who challenged us with their match of 50 cans. Some people won’t be hungry now.
I’m thankful for Dennis’s beautiful music. He can play anything! Music really helps us worship God! We had the privilege of worshiping Almighty God!
I’m thankful for my husband who prepared a good Bible study for the men’s prayer group and for Randy who cooked the breakfast. We are thankful for godly men.
What are you thankful for? E-mail me and/or the whole church and let us know.
Joy in gratitude to Christ, Pastor Penny
